Photos tell the truth faster than any claim we could make. Below are real transformations from garages across Woodland Hills, Calabasas, and the surrounding west Valley. Some of these jobs took under an hour. Others required heavy lifting and a full spring rebuild. In every case, you’ll see the problem as we found it, the fix we performed, and the result we left behind. We document every job this way as part of the Relay Visibility Guarantee, so you see exactly what we saw and exactly what changed.

Torsion Spring Snapped on a Two-Car Door in Woodland Hills
Before
AfterThe homeowner heard what they described as a gunshot from the garage around 7 a.m. That’s a torsion spring, the horizontal coil above the door that does most of the lifting, letting go all at once. One side had snapped clean through, leaving the door dead weight and the opener straining against it. We replaced both springs as a matched pair, because when one fails, the other is usually days or weeks behind it. The door now lifts evenly and the opener no longer sounds like it’s hauling a piano. This is the repair we do most often in Woodland Hills, and it is absolutely not a DIY job. The stored tension in a wound spring can cause serious injury. Leave this one to a trained tech.
Off-Track Door After a Hard Close on a Cul-de-Sac off Platt Avenue
Before
AfterA combination of a worn roller and a hard close shoved this door sideways until it wedged against the track and refused to move in either direction. We worked the door free without cutting anything, replaced the bent roller and the two worn ones next to it, then re-seated the door and tested it through ten full cycles. The panels were undamaged, which was lucky. If a door comes off its track, resist the urge to yank it back into place. The cables carry tension, and forcing it can turn a simple fix into a panel replacement.
Frayed Lift Cable Nearly Let a Door Drop in a 1960s Ranch off Shoup
Before
AfterThis Ranch-style home still had the original single-panel door from the 1960s, and the cable on the right side had worn down to about a third of its original wire strands. A cable that parts while the door is up drops that corner fast, which can damage a car, a wall, or worse. We replaced both cables, not just the failing one, and rebalanced the spring so the door opens with a two-finger lift. Woodland Hills has plenty of older homes with doors from this era, and the hardware lasts longer than people expect. It just needs an occasional inspection before it announces the problem on its own.
Door Slamming on the Way Down in a Warner Center Condo Garage

The owner told us the door had been coming down “like it was mad at her” for about two weeks. That’s almost always a spring losing tension, and sure enough, one of the two springs had stretched past its service life. We re-tensioned the good spring, installed a new one to match, and while we were there, replaced the flattened bottom seal that had been letting in dust and June heat. The door now settles gently onto the floor and closes completely against the threshold. It’s a five-star change for a small drill-and-adjust job.
Noisy Roller and Bent Hinge on a Duplex off Topanga Canyon

This duplex’s shared garage door had been waking up the neighbors for months. The steel rollers had lost their ball bearings one by one, and one hinge had been bent by the door hanging slightly off-level. We replaced all ten rollers with nylon ones, straightened the hinge, and re-set the track spacing. The owner texted us two days later to say she could finally hear her own car start. In Woodland Hills, where garages sit close together, a loud door is a neighborhood issue as much as a household one.
